1. What types of vehicles do you service?

We service both petrol and diesel vehicles — including passenger cars, SUVs, bakkies, and light commercial vehicles. Our technicians are trained to handle a wide range of makes and models.

Yes, we use advanced diagnostic tools to accurately identify mechanical and electrical faults. A diagnostic report is issued, and we explain the results to you before any repairs are done.

4. How much does a diagnostic cost?

Our diagnostic fee depends on the type of vehicle and the issue. There is a physical inspection that can be done for free. Standard computer diagnostics is R450 excluding VAT. The diagnostic fee is waived if you approve the repair with us.

5. How long will it take to repair my vehicle?

Turnaround time depends on the type of repair and the availability of parts. Minor services can be completed same-day, while major repairs or insurance claims may take longer. We keep you updated throughout the process.

6. Will I get a quote before work starts?

Absolutely. We provide a detailed quote after the initial inspection or diagnosis. No work begins without your approval. If we find anything additional during repairs, we will contact you for permission before proceeding.

7. What is included in a standard service?

A standard service includes:

  • Engine oil and oil filter replacement
  • Air filter and fuel filter check (replacement if needed)
  • Inspection of brakes, suspension, belts, and fluid levels
  • Fault code scan and reset
  • Road test and quality check

8. Do you work with insurance companies?

Yes, we are experienced in insurance claims. We handle everything from assessment to final repair. We provide failure reports, diagnostic reports, supporting documents and photos upon request.

9. What warranty do you offer on repairs?

We offer a 6-month or 10,000 km workmanship warranty, whichever comes first. All parts used carry the manufacturer’s warranty unless stated otherwise. While we strive for accuracy and quality in all repairs, electrical parts and electrical repairs unfortunately do not carry a warranty due to the nature of electrical systems.

10. Can I bring my own parts?

Yes, you may supply your own parts, but please note:

  • We do not offer a warranty on customer supplied parts
  • If the part fails, we cannot be held liable for associated labour or damages
  • We may inspect your parts before installation

11. How do I follow up on the status of my vehicle?

You can follow up by calling or sending a WhatsApp message. We also update you proactively during key stages of the repair.

12. What happens if additional problems are found during repair?

We will contact you with a revised estimate and a full explanation. No additional work is done without your consent.

13. Do you offer emergency or after-hours assistance?

Currently, we do not operate after-hours, but we may assist with emergency towing and priority scheduling during business hours. Contact us to discuss your situation.

14. Do you offer call-out services?

Yes, we offer call-out services for breakdowns, non-starting vehicles, and emergency assessments within our service area. Call-outs are charged separately and include travel and on-site diagnostic fees. If the vehicle requires workshop repairs, we can assist with arranging towing. All call-outs are subject to technician availability.

15. Can I get a service history for my car?

Yes, we keep detailed digital records of all services and repairs done at 8Matic. We can email or print your service history on request.

16. Do you work on fleet or company vehicles?

Yes, we offer fleet maintenance solutions and scheduled service plans for businesses. Contact us for a custom proposal.

17. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept:

  • Card payments
  • Cash
  • Approved insurance payments

18. How do I prepare my car for service?
  • Remove valuables from your vehicle

19. What if I’m not happy with the service?

Your satisfaction is our priority. Please speak to our workshop manager immediately — we will investigate and resolve the issue promptly and professionally.
